History joining the band:
In 1994 I heard the album Definitely Maybe by Oasis and from that on I wanted play in a rock band. So we formed a band with a couple of my childhood friends and started to play songs mostly by Oasis - poorly. But anyway I enjoyed playing.

Meanwhile in high school I got acquainted with Thomas, Jukka, Jesse and Matti, who I knew were also interested in music. During high school I got to know these guys better and I also began to know this bloke called Heikki, since I sometimes went to see their band, Powder Blue, playing in some bar in Turku. At first I didn't think very highly of Heikki, because we didn't talk that much and he seemed to be always pissed off and used to sit on the stage through their gigs when he didn't like the way they sounded. How rock'n'roll was that?!

It was starting to be obvious that the "band" thing with my childhood friends would come to nothing. I guess it was always more about a group of friends hanging out than being a real band. We spent our scanty rehearsal time talking rubbish and drinking beer. At some point during 1998 Thomas asked me if I could help his band out, because they had some gigs coming up later that year and their bass player Jesse couldn't make it. We had talked about the idea of jamming together with Thomas every now and then so I said ok, I could do that. It was actually a bit later that I found out they were looking for a new bass player.

So, I went to the first rehearsal with Daisy. I wasn't that nervous because I thought this was going to be temporary and I knew all the guys from way back. Well, most of them anyway. There was this gothic keyboardist who I didn't know that well. Juha always seemed a little nervous and weird. I noticed that Heikki was almost always angry at him and it took me a while to realize why. He wasn't that committed to the band and once or twice he had to be dragged to a rehearsal session from a bar.

The first rehearsal wasn't that good and I thought I was really shit, after all I hadn't played in a band for ages. I don't know if it was that they didn't have the guts to say no, or that they didn't have any alternatives, or that I had a big bass rig, but I was invited to the next rehearsal also. A few weeks later I found myself being the bass player of Daisy.
